Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio
Mercury retrograde is one of the most known event in astrology.
There will be jokes about it very soon on social media as we tend to blame the planet of tricks a lot when something goes wrong.
Of all planetary aspect, this is the one which garners the most attention.
There are plenty of articles about it online, but I would like to cover a missing piece about it.
Mercury goes retrograde 3 times a year for about 21 days.
Retrograde means moving backwards, but it does not actually move backwards, it only seems so for the naked eye if you do some stargazing.
Mercury rules all types of communication, including speaking, writing, listening, teaching, negotiating, contracts, selling and buying.
Retrograde means revisiting a matter which presented itself to you beforehand.
It is especially the case when Mercury hits one of your natal planets or points 3 times.
Imagine that you have your Midheaven on 17 degrees of Pisces. Mercury in its direct motion will conjunct once it reaches 17 degrees then moves on and at 27 degrees of Pisces, it will turn retrograde. It will again conjunct your Midheaven in a week time. A couple of weeks later Mercury turns direct and will be in conjunction with your Midheaven again.
Plenty of you might think that the changes might happen in your career, and of course, this is one of the options here, but also you will have to examine what the natal Mercury does in your chart. It might be in the 6th house, the house of daily routines, lifestyle, health and work.
To be able to predict an event, you will have to take all participants into account as well as the houses, those planets rule.
What does each of the hit represent?
1st hit – something new appears, new person, opportunity or challenge
2nd hit – Change of direction, something from the past returns, re-evaluation, reassessment, internalizing of the situation.
3rd hit – The lesson needs to be learned fully, can not be ignored anymore. Time to become a master of the transit.
I tend to believe that if you don’t manage to learn your lesson, then you will have to deal with some situation in the near future which will cause more headache then before.
Mercury will be retrograde from October 31 – November 19 in the sign of Scorpio.
This is a great period to dig deep and reflect on the choices and decisions we have made recently.
Sometimes it is just great to step back, analyse the situation and create a space where you can hide and purify your energies.
As Scorpio is one of the most secretive signs and Mercury is the ability to speak up, this could be a great period of time to discuss matters you have left in the dark.
Great time to talk about mysterious things as well as clearing out old trauma.
