A New Model for Astrological Oppositions

Astrological oppositions are often described as a need to “balance two poles,” yet this explanation rarely helps people understand why oppositions feel like conflict, projection, or power struggles that repeat throughout life.

The Shadow Dance introduces a new interpretative model that reframes oppositions as a dynamic psychological process, not a static line between two planets. This method is rooted in astronomy, depth psychology, and classical symbolism, offering a clear way to identify what we consciously live and what we unconsciously project onto others.

At the core of this approach lies the Oriental–Occidental distinction:

  • The Oriental planet (rising before the Sun) represents the part of the self we identify with consciously — the “Me,” driven by initiative and action.
  • The Occidental planet (setting after the Sun) represents the Shadow — the unintegrated energy we experience as restriction, conflict, or opposition through other people.

Rather than seeing partners, enemies, or circumstances as the problem, this model reveals how the shadow is created through over-identification with one pole of the chart.

The webinar explores how every opposition ultimately teaches the Aries–Libra lesson: moving from raw self-assertion toward conscious relationship, responsibility, and integration. Through detailed planetary examples and real-life case studies, including an in-depth analysis of Whitney Houston’s chart, you will learn how projection forms, why it repeats, and how it can be reclaimed.

This is not a motivational talk — it is a diagnostic framework that allows astrologers to clearly separate identity from projection and guide clients toward psychological integration.
